Ryan Mandell, Director Claims, Performance, Auto Physical Damage Solutions, Mitchell, an Enlyte Company
Ryan has spent his entire career in the automotive industry and has a wide array of experiences ranging from field claims appraiser, body shop manager, and as a regional director for a large recycled parts supplier. In his current role, Ryan works with a multitude of industry stakeholders including insurance executives and material damage leaders to provide actionable insights and consultative direction for their organizations with a heavy reliance on data analytics. Ryan earned his Master of Arts degree from Northern Arizona University and Bachelor of Arts from the University of San Diego. Ryan has spoken at numerous industry events and is a frequent author of content related to auto insurance, vehicle complexity, and collision repair whose research has been cited by the New York Times, Road & Track, and Automotive News among others. He lives with his wife and four sons in Greenville, South Carolina.
Steve Trapp, Business Process Consultant, LEAP – Learning, Experience, Aptitude, & Promotion, LLC
Steve Trapp graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Economics Education and minor in Accounting, worked for the 3M Corporation in sales and marketing role with 3M ARM$ (their management system division), then joined AkzoNobel and started the industries first value-added program in North America Acoat selected. He later joined ABRA Auto Body to help with franchising and new site integration. Steve later returned to the paint company consultancy side working for DuPont / Axalta for 15 years where he earned a green and black belt in Six Sigma and worked with Mike Anderson to build numerous management courses (with a focus on continuous improvement), built up their performance groups, and led a team of Strategic Account Managers in the US and Canada. Steve now runs a consulting company to aid shops with implementing SOP’s and performing financial analysis.
Jim Bethune, President, Bethune Consulting Services
Jim Bethune, CPA CA, B.Comm., is an accomplished financial executive renowned for his instrumental role in driving organizations to rapid growth and enhanced profitability. His recent leadership roles that include serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ok Tire, a franchise operation with annual sales exceeding $1 billion. Before that, as Chief Operating Officer of Neelands Group Limited, he spearheaded operational aspects, implemented a new ERP system, and facilitated the expansion into Georgia.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim is a respected community leader with an outstanding record of fundraising and event planning, contributing to various organizations such as the Southampton Tennis Club, Rosedale Tennis Club, Amity Goodwill Industries, and more. He also played a pivotal role as a two-term Chair of The Mohawk College Board of Governors, contributing to the institution’s ranking among the top three schools in the province.
Joel Dufkis, Instructor, I-CAR
Joel Dufkis is a seasoned automotive professional with a career spanning nearly two decades, beginning in 2004. An ASE Certified Master Technician, Joel specializes in L3 (Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicles) and L4 (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), alongside xEV Technician Electrical Safety – Level 2 certification.
In 2020, Joel Dufkis founded a mobile EV repair company, capitalizing on the evolving electric vehicle landscape. His entrepreneurial spirit also led to the creation of the Automotive Technology Instructor Network (ATIN) in 2018, a platform connecting automotive educators and industry experts.
Within I-CAR, Joel Dufkis serves as an instructor for ADAS and EV classes, while also contributing as an ADAS and EV Subject Matter Expert. His commitment to innovation and knowledge-sharing continues to shape the industry’s future.
Joel Dufkis is dedicated to staying at the forefront of automotive advancements and is recognized for his exceptional contributions to the field.

A complimentary shuttle between the Delta Hotels by Marriott Toronto Airport & Conference Centre and the International Centre: Hall 5 is available for CCIF attendees.
Seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Limited seats are available at each pick-up.
The shuttle will only pick up and drop off at scheduled stops/locations. Weather and traffic conditions may impact shuttle schedule times.
